.
The commissioning process has a few steps.
1. Planning
Together we will discuss through an initial scheduled phone or video call what you are looking for. Here I like to hear what size painting you would like, which room you want the painting in, colors in that room, and type of seascape painting you would like. From here we can continue to have follow-ups from your preferred way of communication.
Any color swatches from the room where the painting will be hung are also helpful. I can make sure these colors are incorporated in the painting. From here I can email specific reference photos I took or do a brand new photo shoot for you. Delivery methods and framing will also be discussed.
2. Commission Contract
Once our planning is complete I will send a contract that highlights all of what we discussed in our planning discussions. It will state all expectations. This contract will also have the price which is set by size. Once the contract is agreed upon and a deposit is made painting will begin.
3. Painting
While I am painting I will periodically share the progress in an update email to you. If this painting is a surprise I will not share it on social media. If it is not a surprise, I may share the progress on my Stories on Instagram. As the painting gets closer to completion emails will be sent to you so you can see the progress. This is also a great opportunity to voice any changes you would like to see.
4. Completion
Once the painting is completed and you accept the final piece it will be varnished for protection. Shortly after a final invoice will be emailed to you. Once the invoice is paid the painting will be shipped or delivered depending on the contract. If the painting is shipped it will be inside a Strongart box, wrapped inside glassline paper.
Thank you for considering to commission me to paint for you. Please send me an email and we can discuss availability!
Sincerely,
Jess Bell
